Accepted my first Social Work role last week👩🏼🎓✨
Looking forward to beginning my career in Social Work, finally seeing the benefit of everything I have worked towards pay off. I have ALWAYS aspired to be a Social Worker 🎉🥂
I don't think I'll ever be comfortable with the idea of "emotion regulation" (let alone "dysregulation").
I don't think we're supposed to control our emotions.
I think we're to supposed to be attuned to them, to listen, learn and respond.
Hot take: I actually like when people bring up how they relate to my situation. I don’t assume they’re trying to steal the spotlight or one-up me. I see it as a person trying to help however they can by connecting & being vulnerable w me, as we should if we want community
Working your job while working on your mental health while working on your relationships while working on physical health while working on your family while working on sleep habits while working on self-care while working on exercise while working on personal goals while working
seeing a lot of “imagine that was your daughter/sister” etc and for once it would be nice for women to simply be treated as humans because we are human and not because you have one like it at home that you don’t hate
If you’re in need of a comforting word today, a ‘hibernacle’ is a winter retreat, where you can pretend for a time that the outside world doesn’t exist.
They hosted a party during lockdown.
They knew it was against the rules.
They knew they couldn’t admit it.
They thought it was funny.
Then they covered it up.
The Prime Minister must hand over everything the Government knows about the parties in Downing Street to the police.
Grieving is not a linear process. You might have a few good days but then that one low day really hits you hard. Remember that this is not a set back, grief is supposed to be felt.
