some thoughts on how to make things a lil safer just off the top of my head (some of these might not be feasible but they're just thoughts for how to make things a little safer)
set up a womens networking workshop/event which would also be a place for women travelling to event solo to make friends/contact to walk around with
twitchcon could set up a specific service at the venue/help line for women to go to/call if there are any issues and make this a clear point for anyone who might need it
twitchcon could scout a few hotels close to the venue and potentially set up a partnership (approve them as a safe space) for women travelling on their own and have extra resources close to the site if needed
send out a very clear behaviour policy in a know before you go? (they might do this already idk) making it clear they will be banned from all future events if theres any funny business
have an approved whatsapp group that women attending the event can join for the event if they need any assistance/also to talk to other women attending
all of these i feel like would potentially make things feel a little safer for women attending future events???
i understand there are some things totally out of twitchcons control but having a more clear stance on this and providing little things to help women feel a little safer after the events of this weekend would be super helpful!
