President of @qlinedetroit, founder of @mogodetroit. Passionate about equitable mobility in #Detroit and making cities better for the people living in them
Reasons why I think pedestrian deaths have increased: cars are getting safer for the ppl driving them, but not other road users; vehicles keep getting bigger, heavier, and deadlier for ppl walking and biking; & roads that are designed for speed.

Ever-bigger pickups and SUVs are exacting a deadly toll on urban streets. Here’s how one US city plans to push back https://t.co/QiokzfIp3K via @citylab@DavidZipper
@DetroitTransit@qlinedetroit Once they come in, would love to take people behind the scenes via social media to see what that entails, as it’s a fascinating process. Stay tuned, and thanks for looking out!
@DetroitTransit@qlinedetroit I wanted to chime in and let folks know we are aware of this issue. We need to true some of the wheels on our streetcars, and the parts and equipment we have on order have long lead times due to supply chain issues.
Happy 5th anniversary, @MoGoDetroit! I remember the joy of launch day as if it were yesterday 🤩 Here’s to many more years of providing affordable, accessible mobility to Detroit and the region!

Our roads are unsafe because they are designed to move the maximum number of vehicles as quickly as possible. We need better design, better metrics, and more courageous choices when it comes to spending on roads. Design streets for people first! https://t.co/g3VPTS4tMh
ICYMI: DDOT is excited to share that in honor of Rosa Park’s Birthday, everyone can ride free on Friday. Rides will also be fare-free on Monday, Feb 7. This opportunity is thanks to the partnership of @DetroitPistons@PriorityHealth and @knightfdn#detroit#RosaParks#rideddot

@6a726d@qlinedetroit Hey Jimmy! Glad you circled back on this. Would love to learn more about the bus board and how we can be a part of it. DMing you to set up a time next week to chat.
@FelipeEgoavil @qlinedetroit Hey Felipe! As we continue to improve the consistency of our service, we'll definitely be looking at how we can best time stops at key transfer points. Looking forward to working with our partners @RideDDOT and @smartbusorg on this!
@hialexjohnston @qlinedetroit The first stretch of dedicated transit lane was installed in fall 2021 between Temple and the I-75 service drive, and we're hoping to expand coverage further in 2022. Stay tuned!
@DE_Gifford@qlinedetroit Given that we're still in the midst of a significant wave of COVID right now, we're not likely to extend hours until things settle down -- it's hit our team hard much like many others. We'd love to expand hours, and we want to make sure we do that sustainably.
@DE_Gifford I'm sorry you had such a frustrating experience this evening, Dave -- we had a brake fault on one of the cars, which delayed all service. Rider alerts were posted at stations and Transit app shortly after you took this photo, but we can always do better @qlinedetroit
Looking forward to talking transit with @DetroitTransit, @RideDDOT, @smartbusorg, and Dave Woodward this evening -- tune in via zoom by registering with TRU!
Transit advocates! Tonight at 6pm you can join M-1 Rail president @LNuszkowski and @DetroitTransit for a discussion about how you can help expand transit in Oakland County and throughout the region in 2022!
