Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd shot her through the glass from a concealed position. No clear warning she could act on. No assessment of her hands. No threat to him or anyone else. Byrd violated every protocol for deadly force against someone who posed no immediate danger. He fired, then walked. Closed investigation. No trial. Promoted and protected.
