Our international marketing calendar for 2026 @RwenzoriMarathn starts next month in Nairobi Kenya , the week of 26th.
The local market focus push starts around May/june 2026 but now the main focus will be international. Local focus is help push @TheGuluMarathon which happens on 6th December 2025
An international marathon has to have blend of an international and local marketing strategy.
Uganda is competing with countries around us who are on arsenal Tshirts for example, we canโt only be talking to ourselves.
For Uganda to dream of competing with even our neighbors, we need 1000 times the efforts like those of @RwenzoriMarathn
We must be in the markets shouting and pushing a Ugandan agenda. After achieving we come back and speak to ourselves.
Rwenzori Marathon vs Investment
Am not in charge of the future but kasese is set to attract massive investments in the next 10 years God willing.
We as organizers are discussing with leadership of kasese on improving a few things and if they act on them, we shall keep pushing.
The brand @RwenzoriMarathn is growing and so are its demands and we must think deeply about its sustainability.
How?
Just as an example, a Tanzanian just last week bought 4 acres to invest in a very good hotel.
2 Kenyans asked me how best to invest in kasese and what the land ownerships conditions are.
Since we market @RwenzoriMarathn throughout the year, that means we highlight kasese and Rwenzoris throughout the year.
Just as an example, Rwenzori ranges had 1000 climbers in 2022 and has now moved up to 10k a year.
The numbers of Rwenzori ranges climbers will go to more than 30k within the next 4yrs because the ranges are being highlighted massively.
The numbers visiting Queen, Kibale, semuliki game reserves and national park will go up.
The above simply means kasese and Fortportal too will continuously have spenders throughout the year and that will sustain investment.
Speaking to some local hotels owners, they said numbers generally have improved throughout the year which is good but not yet there.
Of course that will also depend on the national dreams too, bigger picture is very important, businesses or towns canโt grow in isolation of the bigger picture.
The quality of spenders or runners coming to Kasese and Fortportal during the @RwenzoriMarathn has continued to grow, we can see their demands are getting higher.
The demand for better quality accommodations, eateries , transport etc is growing.
And since investment generally speaking follows opportunities, be on the look out.
