I think it’s also important to mention Nurse Obi Justina Ejelona who was the first known Nigerian to die from the Ebola Virus in 2014 after Nursing Patrick Sawyer.

She had just been offered a nursing job in the hospital and Sawyer was the first patient in her duty roaster. She was also pregnant at the time and she lost her baby alongside her life.

It’s sad that she and others who died for a noble cause, and for the safety of their fellow Nigerians, have not had their sacrifices recognized and still aren’t recognized today.

May her soul continue to rest in peace🕊️❤️
