Congratulations to K-9 Reuben on successfully completing his annual certification through the North American Police Work Dog Association. K-9 Reuben earned the highest honor of Police Utility Dog, demonstrating his proficiency in both patrol and narcotics. Great work, Reuben!

On January 26, 2024 at roughly 5:41pm officers responded to Bliss Road and Laurel Street to assist a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle in the crosswalk.

Today, CLOSE COMMUNITY and Lt. Jurkowski and Sgt. Lombardi, members of our Drug Addiction and Recovery Team (DART), trained residents in recognizing, preventing, and reversing opioid overdoses.
Today, Officer Byrne located and arrested Jacques Guirand of Bay Shore, New York and charged him with Identity Fraud, Receiving Stolen Property (under), Larceny Over $1,200 by Single Scheme, and Credit/Debit Card Fraud. Great work, Officer Byrne!
Next Thursday, September 21, 2023 members of our Drug Addiction and Recovery Team (DART) will be teaming up with CLOSE COMMUNITY to provide our community members with a free narcan and overdose prevention training at the Longmeadow Shops
Today is Longmeadow Police Department's Record Clerk Brittney Kraus' last day. Brittney was an valuable member of the LPD family and will be missed. Brittney is leaving to pursue a full time position as her LPD position was only part time.

Tonight, Officer MacElhiney, Detective Dabrea and Officer Almeida met with members of Bear Cub Scouts Pack 94 to discuss forensic evidence. After a highly engaged and enthusiastic Q and A, members of Pack 94 were taken to a “mock” crime scene!
Tonight, Lt. Jurkowski joined members of CLOSE and the Hampden County District Attorney’s Youth Advisory Board to discuss safe and risky uses of Social Media.

His cell phone is now off but it’s last location was near Hall of Fame Ave. and Broad St. in Springfield.

We are all set up! Come dispose of unused medications today from 10:00AM-1:00PM. The table is staffed by Western New England University’s College of Pharmacy students and members of the Longmeadow PD and is located in the parking area between the town hall and police station.
