We had another great turnout for our monthly meeting last night. Our officer team did a fantastic job being role models and working together as a team to get through our agenda last night. There are a lot of exciting things happening in the next few weeks in FFA!
Do you enjoy animals? Do you like eating? What about going on field trips?? Then FFA is for you. Come to our first call-out meeting this year next Wednesday August 18 at 6pm in F.13 to see what we’re all about.
We had a great day volunteering with the New Prairie and Westville FFA chapters today! The LaPorte County Farm Bureau Milk Cabin has a fresh coat of paint thanks to all our hard workers. Make sure to check out the cabin when you visit the La Porte County Fair this summer!
Huge shoutout to Audrey Jeffers and Lexi Burns for being the first 2 members ever to represent the LaPorte FFA chapter at District 1 Officer Interviews. Even though the results didn’t come out like we hoped, we still learned a lot and ready to come back next year even better!
These guys competed in the FFA State Welding contest today. Nathan and Nick had to perform a variety of welds in both Stick and Mig welding. We will be anxiously awaiting the results to see how they did. #inffa#laporteffa#welding#lincolnelectric
Congratulations to our FFA member and Treasurer Brayden Sobecki, who placed 2nd today in the Freshman Creed Speaking leadership development event at South Newton High School!
The future of agriculture is looking bright with freshmen leaders like Brayden! Great job today!
We have two words to tell you how great the day is at LPHS: petting zoo.
Thank you to FFA students and sponsors for making one of the best days of the year happen! #FFAWeek
Another successful petting zoo. Thank you to all the members, parents, and everyone else that brought in animals, educated their classmates about them, and helped with clean up afterwards. You all are awesome and deserve a major shout out for everything you’ve done this week!!
Tomorrow is the day we’ve all been waiting for... PETTING ZOO DAY!!! Teachers have already signed up to bring classes down throughout the day. We are so excited to continue this tradition!
Help us kick off FFA week by dressing in your best red, white, and blue.

Ag Mechanics students are passing their safety tests and diving right into stick welding. These skills are very valuable to have in the work force after graduation and highly sought after in our community!
We had the second meeting of our School Lunch & Recycling Committee. These students are working with hopes of improving the quality of our school lunches, incorporating local foods into meals, and creating a detailed plan for recycling and composting within the school.
FFA Sweet Corn is officially over! Thank you to everybody that supported us by buying some. A huge thank you to Davenport Precision Plant & Seed for the donation of seed and to Mike Ault for all the time he dedicated to planting and maintaining our field this year.
Went to check out the sweet corn patch and check out what’s starting to bloom!! Our new addition this year is sunflowers and check out how big they are!! Be on the look out for when the rest of the sunflowers bloom and we need to get rid them!🌻
