The @LPNational has new leadership, the core of a great judicial committee, and passed some key bylaws reforms including introducing electronic voting in the future. A new LPNH that doesn’t work for the Republican Party will be welcomed to affiliate status soon.
It’s the job of all radical libertarians to work with their local, state, and national parties to keep the Party on track ideologically and support candidates with strong libertarian messaging.
We hope you’ll join us in that work! Join your local/state lp, the national party, and *lastly* the @LPRadicals to move us onward 💕
#liberty indeed
LPRC Platform Section 1.5 Languages: "Government should have no role in regulating, standardizing, or mandating which language people use in schools, places of work, or any other private situation. Although English is the most widely used language in the United States, it is not the official language of the country, despite various states attempting to mandate its use, including instruction in schools. We support complete separation of government and language and leave it to the individuals in question which mode of communication they deem most appropriate."
Order doesn’t always need a designer.
When deaf children in Nicaragua invented their own language, they proved a timeless truth of liberty: Lasting systems (like markets and languages) emerge from the bottom up.
Paul Meany’s essay reveals how the emergence of Nicaraguan Sign Language mirrors the same principles that sustain free societies. Read now: https://t.co/zzUAIE6ozr
@bullfrog2651 The only government of the people, for the people, by the people I believe in is self-government, which would more accurately be described as the government of the person, for the person, by the person. 😉
Kentucky voters! This is URGENT!
Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District (currently held by Thomas Massie) is trying to get a Libertarian candidate on the ballot. Petition signatures are needed by voters in the district. Please contact Jeremy Todd @Jtodd601 or @lpky to help. Deadline is June 2nd!
Join me tomorrow (Friday) at 9pm eastern as I discuss last week's Libertarian National Convention in Grand Rapids and my thoughts on the future of @LPNational
Shout out to the @LPGeorgia delegation for being great and the @LPRadicals for their suite and hosting events there all weekend.
Were you at the convention?
What are your thoughts one week later?
I've been far too tired for afterparties this convention, but I made myself go out last night anyways. I'm glad I did. I made a few new friends. Had some great conversations. Changed my mind on something.
I was in the room when this speech was given by our new Chair @BadEvan
Thanks to @LPNational for inviting me to deliver a keynote at the Libertarian National Convention in my hometown of Grand Rapids.
As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, I spoke about our libertarian heritage, the Constitution under assault, and how we must seize this moment.
Two events in the LPRC suite tonight (Amway tower 2680):
Whiskey caucus tasting (bring your local bottle!) at 6pm.
@povertarians Pizza Party for those skipping the Gala starting at 7:30.
The pizza thing will of course segue into a late-night social per usual.
3 days into the @LPNational Convention, and I have over 2,000 photographs on my hard drive waiting to be edited, but here's a few shots from tonights party with @LPRadicals that I couldn't resist doing early.
2 more days of convention, and a few weeks of editing to go!
@FoodFreedomNH@LPNational@JoelSalatin I pulled you because I will not pay for a speaker to come into our organization who is campaigning to dissolve it.
You do you boo boo.
Party in the LP Radicals suite again tonight.
Suite will be opened up at 7:30 or thereabouts.
Snacks and refreshments supplied.
Come on by one and all.
Suite 2680 at the Amway Grand Hotel, Tower building.
Free admission, no membership required, but we do ask that you consider throwing a couple of bucks into the donation jar so we can get more supplies for days following.
-- @MarcMontoni , Chair LP Radical Caucus
No scheduled activity at our suite tonight (yet) but lots of socializing and maybe we can convince @JoForLiberty and/or @justinamash to drop by. Amway Grand 2680
Tomorrow we have three events planned: stay tuned!
To my LP friends:
If you take a shot every time someone says "point of personal privilege" or "point of order", you can die of alcohol poisoning by 4pm
