خلال استقباله وفد شبكة القطاع الخاص اللبناني برئاسة السيدة ريما فريجة، شدد رئيس الجمهورية العماد جوزاف عون على أن التفاوض هو الخيار الأسلم للبنان، معتبراً أنه ليس استسلاماً ولا تنازلاً، بل مسار ضروري لوقف الحروب بأقل الأضرار الممكنة.

كما اعتبر أن القطاع الخاص هو العمود الفقري للاقتصاد اللبناني، وأن الاستقرار الأمني والسياسي يشكلان المدخل الطبيعي للنمو واستعادة الثقة بلبنان.

من جهتها، جددت شبكة القطاع الخاص اللبناني دعمها لمسار الدولة السيادي والإصلاحي، ورؤيتها للبنان الدولة، القادر على تحقيق الاستقرار والتعافي الاقتصادي وإعادة الإعمار وبناء مستقبل أكثر ازدهاراً للأجيال القادمة.

تطالب شبكة القطاع الخاص اللبناني بخطوات فورية قبل فوات الأوان:

• إبقاء بيروت الكبرى منطقة آمنة ومنزوعة السلاح، كونها القلب الاقتصادي للبنان ومركز المطار والمرفأ والبنى التحتية الحيوية.

• حماية مقوّمات الصمود الاقتصادي وضمان استمرارية الأعمال والخدمات الأساسية في ظل الظروف الاستثنائية.

• وقف تحميل الأعباء الإضافية للقطاع الخاص الشرعي، للحفاظ على المؤسسات وفرص العمل والحدّ من الخسائر الاقتصادية.

أكد رئيس الجمهورية العماد جوزاف عون أن خيار التفاوض هو الخيار الأسلم الذي اعتمده لبنان نتيجة الحرب، مشدداً على أنه ليس استسلاماً أو تنازلاً بل مساراً يحتاج إلى وقت لوقف الحرب بأقل الأضرار الممكنة.

وجاء كلامه خلال استقباله وفد شبكة القطاع الخاص اللبناني برئاسة ريما فريجة، التي أكدت دعم الشبكة لخيار المفاوضات المباشرة ولحصر السلاح بيد الدولة وبسط سيادتها على كامل الأراضي اللبنانية، معتبرة أن الاستقرار السياسي والأمني هو المدخل الوحيد للتعافي الاقتصادي وإعادة الإعمار.

من جهته، شدد الرئيس عون على أن القطاع الخاص يشكل العمود الفقري للاقتصاد اللبناني، مؤكداً أن الاستقرار والإصلاح ومكافحة الفساد أسس النهوض الاقتصادي. كما أشار إلى أن المفاوضات قد تتعثر أو تتأخر لكنها تبقى الخيار الوحيد، مؤكداً أن لبنان لن يتراجع عن هذا المسار.

وختم بالقول: “أواصل العمل من أجل إنقاذ لبنان لأبنائنا وأحفادنا، فاللبناني القادر على بناء دول العالم قادر على إعادة بناء وطنه.”

The Network held a Talk & Tour at Beit Beirut, organized by Romy Assouad, offering members a meaningful journey through Lebanon’s collective memory, civic history, and cultural identity. Located along Beirut’s former demarcation line during the Lebanese Civil War, Beit Beirut stands today as a powerful symbol of resilience and remembrance.
Once marked by conflict and division, the space has been transformed into a living museum and civic platform that preserves the visible traces of war while encouraging dialogue, reflection, and reconciliation.
Through the visit’s exhibitions, archives, and storytelling experiences, members explored the evolving history of Beirut and reflected on the importance of memory in shaping a more conscious and engaged society.
The tour also shed light on the role of initiatives such as Hkeeli in fostering public engagement, inclusive dialogue, and civic participation through culture and shared narratives. The experience served as a collective conversation on memory, identity, and the importance of preserving Lebanon’s historical and human stories for future generations.

The second Lebanon Works training, “Jobs of the Future,” brought incredible energy to Collège des Sœurs des Saints-Cœurs, Jbeil. With the generous support of Deutsche Bank and in partnership with IFC, the day was dedicated to helping high school students uncover their personal “Why.”

From exploring the SDGs to tackling career decision-making, our members, Maya Nehme and Deenah Fakhoury, led students through a hands-on journey of self-discovery. Watching young people walk in with questions and leave with a clear sense of direction — that’s what makes it all worthwhile.

The Network held a masterclass on “Fundraising & Financial Sustainability” with Afif Tabsh, Founding Partner of RPS MENA, as part of its Development Division’s Capacity Building Track. The session provided practical insights into the fundamentals of fundraising, key approaches to achieving financial sustainability, and the importance of selecting the right fundraising strategy based on organizational goals and impact.

Discussions explored cost optimization techniques, aligning strategy, projects, communications, and fundraising efforts, as well as the growing role of AI in supporting donor engagement, data analysis, outreach, and operational efficiency. The session also highlighted different fundraising and sustainability strategies and how organizations can adapt them to strengthen long-term growth and resilience.

The masterclass offered valuable takeaways for The Network in enhancing its development approach, strengthening sustainability efforts, and identifying innovative ways to support future initiatives and impact.

The Network hosted a timely session with our member, Diana Kaissy, exploring the evolving global and regional energy landscape and its growing implications for Lebanon. Discussions highlighted the continued strategic importance of oil and gas amid rising geopolitical volatility, as well as the vulnerability of global maritime energy routes and their impact on supply chains and energy security.

Particular attention was given to the strategic potential of reviving the historic Kirkuk–Tripoli pipeline corridor and the Tripoli Oil Installations (TOI) as part of a broader regional energy security framework, positioning Lebanon as a potential Mediterranean energy transit and logistics hub.
Members also stressed the urgent need for infrastructure rehabilitation, governance reforms, and long-term investment frameworks to strengthen Lebanon’s energy resilience and support economic recovery.

The Network's Q1 Workshop drew a strong turnout, a notable show of commitment given the security and political climate in Lebanon.

Members reviewed the quarter's progress, set priorities for the road ahead, and worked across task forces and units to translate ideas into concrete plans.

The day opened with a Deep Dive by Dr. Elie Elias, Director of MEIRSS, who placed Lebanon's political horizon against the Network's non-negotiables.

The conversation moved through negotiations and normalization, decentralization, the parallel economy, and power-sharing within the Taif framework, anchoring the dialogue that followed.
