I signed the Ballots without Barriers pledge. Earlier this year, the Duval County Republican Executive Committee brought a lawsuit against my (qualified and on the ballot already) campaign over length of time in my political party (new statute). This was a local race, and I was running as a Libertarian. They clearly expected me to bow out. Instead, we doubled-down when we discovered their candidate may not be qualified (residency concerns).
The judge ruled in my favor, and I remained on the ballot (HUGE WIN), but the judge refused to hear the evidence we had in our counterclaim on the other candidate, citing ‘no removal mechanism.’ We requested a re-hearing and were shut down in the re-hearing. Judge still would not hear the evidence.
I was subpoenaed in a separate case (by an individual elector) against my opponent, where I testified. However, that judge denied my request to intervene in that case, citing my rights were protected in my pending appeal.
We are moving forward with the appeal. The election concluded in August.
If statues are in place for candidates and oaths are signed, there should be a way to remove candidates who violate the statutes AND there should be equal application of the law, regardless of political party.
The ballot qualification and challenge processes should be simple and equitable. Period. I will continue to challenge unconstitutional statutes and corruption. You can read more about the case here: https://t.co/dvQS7IBPVk
I, Addison Liberty Patrick believe ballot access laws should be the same for all candidates regardless of party or affiliation. I pledge to the voters of the state of Florida, and to the American people, that I will:
1Vote to repeal existing barriers to the ballot in this state;
2Vote for measures that expand the ability of citizens to form new parties and to
3Associate freely with the party of their choice;
4Vote for measures that increase competition in our elections; and
5Oppose any measure that reverses this progress.
I voted Libertarian yesterday!
Andrew Parrott for U.S. House District 6
Scott Jewett for Governor
Nicole Skelly for Lt Governor
Joe Hannoush (me!) for Florida House District 28 !
I voted for more but had to stop and take a ballot selfie with the Libertarian candidates. #BallotSelfie #FreeHogarth

The difference between elected Libertarians and elected Republicans & Democrats is that Republicans & Democrats have been campaigning on fixing the same problems in a broken system. Libertarians want to unrig the system.
