Sixth grade scientists reflecting on their growth in the science and engineering practices as they start their google site science portfolios today! 💻🤩
6th grader: “Wow, my ideas changed a lot, we figured out so much!” 🙂Celebrating successfully explaining our phenomenon this week in 6th grade! Ss revisited our DQB, worked in groups to answer our initial questions and then reflected on their individual growth in understanding.
6th grader in today’s virtual Scientist Circle: “you know, now that I’m hearing all of these other groups’ different ideas and their thinking, I’m thinking I want to change my mind” 🙂❤️ #learningtogether@HaddonfieldMS
Sixth grade scientists used Jamboard to construct our class Driving Question Boards and brainstorm ideas for investigation. We have a lot to figure out!!
Learning together, even though we’re in different locations 🙂 Our small group discussions may look different this year, but with the use of lots of Google Meets, they are happening! Love hearing these 6th graders using scientific talk to share their thinking.
Sixth graders go public with their initial ideas about our phenomenon -- SO impressed with the thoughtful feedback for each other through Jamboard sticky notes! Thanks @nicolejbolduc for sharing the sentence starter idea --- made this year's first digital Gallery Walk a success!
At-home and in-person learners collaborating today through small group breakout rooms to share observations and inferences - loving this scientific talk!
@abeslo@flabellinaJG We're going to try this tomorrow with earthquake case locations! Put each case/map on a different frame in Jamboard and having small groups record their thoughts on corresponding frames. We'll see how it goes!
6th graders create our virtual DQB together for our Everest phenomenon using Jamboard. This worked so well - so many questions to start figuring out! Thanks to @gretchenmilary @ShmoovyShmoov for sharing this idea - going to try this for small groups and Gallery Walks next.
My sidekick in this remote teaching/learning adventure — big smile on her face as she listened to her teacher on video talking through today’s lessons! So thankful for her kind, thoughtful teachers working hard to keep these first graders feeling loved!
