The armored Camaro used to deliver humanitarian aid during the Bosnian War.
At first glance, it looks like something straight out of Mad Max, but this heavily modified 1979 Chevrolet Camaro served a much greater purpose. During the Bosnian War, former Danish Special Forces soldier Helge Meyer converted the V8 muscle car into a lightly armored humanitarian vehicle, using it to deliver food, medicine, and other vital supplies to civilians trapped behind dangerous front lines. Its speed, compact size, and agility allowed it to reach areas that larger aid convoys often couldn’t.
The Camaro was fitted with Kevlar armor, reinforced windows, run-flat tires, underbody protection, communications equipment, and other upgrades to help it survive hostile conditions. Meyer reportedly came under small-arms fire several times but continued delivering aid throughout the war before later carrying out similar humanitarian missions in Kosovo. The unusual combination of an American muscle car and a relief vehicle made the Camaro legendary, proving that one of the most remarkable Camaros ever built wasn’t designed for the racetrack—it was built to save lives.
My wife and I got into it last night about the grocery bill.
I pulled up an old Target order from February 2020.
28 items. $64.50.
Added every single one back to the cart just to see.
$158.30.
Same 28 items. Same store. Same cart.
$93.80 more.
In five years.
We didn’t buy more.
Didn’t upgrade anything.
Didn’t add a single extra item.
Just needed the same things we always needed.
They told us inflation was transitory. They told us it was under control. They told us the economy was strong.
Our cart didn’t get any of those memos.
145% increase in five years.
Not one member of Congress has looked at a grocery receipt in decades.
And it shows.
It is Russia who rejected the peace plan prepared by the US, not @ZelenskyyUa. The only Russian response were further missile attacks on Ukrainian cities. This is why the only solution is to strengthen pressure on Russia. And you all know it.
Putin is now asking for a new election in Ukraine, conducted in a specific manner that he can influence, so that he can install his puppet and accomplish that which he couldn’t militarily. Nice try, Vladimir. Try holding a free and fair election in your own country first without imprisoning your opponents. You have zero credibility and the United States and Europe will not cave to your ridiculous demands. Recognize and respect Ukraine’s sovereignty and independence, or deal with the consequences. There is an outcome-determinative number of Members of Congress who feel the same, and we are fully prepared to do whatever is necessary to preserve world peace.
