I spotted a turkey walking in the woods and then saw two little chicks following. I came back to the road and found another chick just standing there. I got him into a box and then went searching for momma and actually found her in the weeds. I got as close as I could and dumped her chick in front of her. The chick ran up to her and my good deed was done. 😃👍🏻

Pelicans are absolute legends of the water.

Those massive pouched beaks can hold up to 3 gallons of water - they scoop fish then drain the water before swallowing. Some dive from 60+ feet like feathered missiles, while others work in teams to herd fish into shallow water.

They’ve got stretchy throat pouches, excellent eyesight, and can live 15–30 years. Brown pelicans even carry their young on their backs. Nature’s ultimate fishing machines with serious style.
