“COVID-19 Planning Considerations: Guidance for School Re-entry”
Recommendations broken down by grade level. An interesting read: https://t.co/O1fKhmhhpP
@msoskil We agree the US numbers are higher - for a legit comparison:
1 - more countries
2 - murder rate graph by country
3 - and a per capita rate - The US 330 million people is more than Germany, France, UK, Italy, and Spain combined.
@msoskil Interestingly the police are the ones who stop the school shootings before they happen. Without deadly force. Relying on our reporting.

@msoskil I go back and forth on the issue. About 10 states allow teachers to carry so they’ve made the calculation and come down on the other side. About 12 have constitutional carry - there is overlap.
@msoskil I understand your question - 2 testable assumptions.
“Police can’t get it right.” - there are horrible exceptions but the vast majority are professional.
“Teachers won’t” - search turned up teachers illegally carrying guns and a police officer - any wrongful deadly force?
@msoskil I understand the sentiment and agree with many of your stated ideas but if we want change in this realm shouldn’t we be pointing to evidence of teachers who have wrongly used deadly force with a firearm in the states where it is legal for teachers to carry in schools?
@masonphysics @BBC_Future Plus there is a large group of people who will read this and see bias against their tribe while other tribes who read this will feel entirely comfortable.

@masonphysics @BBC_Future One survey they mention is interesting. Click on it and scroll through - it’s long and they only mention a bit
Check out
1) the questions
2) the answer CHOICES (more important than the questions and some are quite limited)
