@ProRelForUSA Wow. Now you’re just being ignorant. Many of our players aspire to play High School Varsity. Some of them go on to play College soccer. Most of them don’t return to this area after college. One size never fits all.
@ProRelForUSA Maybe we’re not the kind of youth soccer club you imagine. We aren’t always sure if our U15 players will come back next season, never mind in 5 years’ time. We currently don’t have U14 boys. And we field 3 teams on the girls side. Our 5 year plan is to grow our youth teams.
“MLS will absorb all expenses for players attending and participating in the regional competitions in select age levels.” @MLS and @USYouthSoccer Announce Strategic Partnership to Offer New Identification Opportunities for Domestic Players https://t.co/oeXcsVrKS5
@ProRelForUSA Lack of volunteers and lack of demand for a competitive adult soccer team in this area. If both of those existed, we would have an adult team today. They simply don’t.
@ProRelForUSA Does an adult team also manage, organize and promote itself? Again, we have looked into this. We would love to run a U23 or Adult team. It just doesn’t work for us right now. So if you mandated this Fall we MUST have an adult team or no youth soccer, we are done as a club.
@ProRelForUSA We are a community based youth soccer club using exclusively volunteers for coaching and administration. Mandate an adult team and there is a whole lot of additional overhead, management, administration, and requirements that we simply don’t have the capacity to support.
@ProRelForUSA@USYouthSoccer@MLS@DallasTexansSC@CrossfirePrmr Our mission is to develop young soccer players who aspire to play at higher levels through high school and beyond. A no fee state and regional development pathway helps our mission, especially for those players who can not afford to pay for ‘Premier’ and ‘Elite’ clubs.
