@super_dogz@TheChrisMosier Not that I have an issue with you but more peer-reviewed research/studies is what I'm looking for to discuss the point in either directions.
@ermiasabe @TheChrisMosier I am not talking about this specific case but generally. If there is research/science to prove that there is no unfair advantage then surely that should be put forward more readily.
@TPostMillennial Fully supportive of #liathomas and the right of trans athletes to compete but not talking about it does not help anyone and will run the risk of putting trans athletes under constant scrutiny in the future.
@AthleteAlly On another note, a genuine question. If it feels like there is an inherent advantage for a trans athlete (such as beating every other athlete in the same category with performances never seen in history), will the athlete be banned?
@AthleteAlly This should always be the lead. There is a logic to allowing trans athletes that goes beyond ideology and that would have this make sense. But if we go with ideology first, then we risk alienating a lot of people.
@TheChrisMosier Also, we risk alienating a lot of people here. Good people who are allies but who are not given proper information on why there is no unfair advantage for trans athletes just because we agree that they should compete on ideological grounds.
@TheChrisMosier Agree with the premise but this is not a good argument when cis female athletes start getting second places to trans athletes. The important thing is to present the logic not the ideology, even though I fully support trans athletes.
@SarahAurlapinou While I absolutely agree with the premise of your argument here, I don't think the title here is the worst. In your suggestion, it's more of an opinion and does not say anything about the news item itself.
@frankhuiskamp @GaryLineker@F1 The same referee who refused a perfectly opening goal for Liverpool in the first minute and that could have changed the whole dynamic of the game? Let's be consistent and mention all incidents in the game not just the ones that suit a specific agenda :)
@GaryLineker@F1 The same referee who refused a perfectly valid opening goal for Liverpool in the first minute and that could have changed the whole dynamic of the game? Let's be consistent and mention all incidents in the game not just the ones that suit a specific agenda :)
@MattHDGamer Poetic justice for hiding in Monaco and not paying his taxes in the UK. When I see the inequalities in this country, I think of people like Branson and Hamilton who f*ck off to a little wealthy bubble and preach on how we should live.
@Scotlene @kelechnekoff Hahaha. Yes that's probably why Latifi crashed his car into the wall. Probably a message to Hamilton that he should stop hiding in Monaco and come back to the UK to pay his taxes.
@SamanthaQuek Like Hamilton didn't give up first spot in the first lap even though literally everyone at Sky (who have a very obvious but also logical Hamilton bias) said he should have given it back.
@MercedesAMGF1 Well you can start by having Hamilton not hide in Monaco so he pays his taxes in the UK. Those would be some good words to start with :)
@kelechnekoff But everybody was happy to "let them race" when he did not force Hamilton to give back top spot in the first lap even though everyone on the very biased SKY said he should have. CONSISTENCY, don't pick and choose whatever suits your agenda.
@DrFuraha_Asani Hahahaha. Hamilton does not pay his taxes and was happy to celebrate his win in front of the murderous Bin Salman last week. He is not a good man but a supreme racing driver. As a member of that "demographic", he certainly does not represent me.
@glenisck @kelechnekoff@SayYourMindPod AH I guess that's how they forced Latifi to crash and did not force Hamilton to give back top spot in the first lap (even though all experts are saying he should have?). Well sure, let's have stupid hottakes. In the meantime, let's remind Hamilton to pay his taxes.
