​It is with a truly grateful heart that we write this message. Thank you for welcoming our family so warmly and for your incredible kindness—you are an amazing nation!

​We had such a wonderful time at church. Being welcomed into this community filled our hearts with so much joy, appreciation, and fellowship. We are loving it here.

​Today was another big milestone: we took our daughter for her school assessments to determine whether she’ll stay in Grade 6 (after completing six months in South Africa) or move on to Grade 7.
She came out so excited and can’t wait to start school and make new friends!

​Thank you for allowing us to call this home. As a family, we look forward to contributing positively and spreading kindness wherever we go. 🇺🇸❤️🙏🙏🙏

How can we ever truly articulate the wave of emotions the three of us have felt over the past few hours! Waking up to blessing upon blessing has left us overwhelmed, and stunned by the generosity of spirit you have sent our way!

Your kindness, support and encouragement have touched us in ways which are hard to comprehend!

The realization that total strangers have reached out, selflessly helping us to move forward as part of a community!

You have reignited a fire in us, and inspired us to continue to walk in faith, knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that God will always light our path!

Thank you most sincerely for accepting us, for welcoming us, for reminding us and for showing us that this is exactly where God needs us to be!

8th July, the day our world became so much bigger! Finally touching down on American soil for the first time. The land of milk and honey, of bigger and better, of a nation filled with pride, celebration, 250 years steeped in history, of community who shower all they meet with "how ya doing?", "have a nice day", "God bless you!"

God bless YOU, America - a nation who open their arms and hearts to one and all, who make strangers instantly feel like friends, whose dazzling smiles can turn a frown upside down.

From the traveller who catches your fall as you move at the speed of light on the airport train, to Sam the sweets man who cheerfully loads a mountain of luggage while sharing his pocket full of candy, the ever so helpful bus drivers who assist with putting the bus card into the machine correctly, the passenger who shows you how to navigate the automatic bus door, the patient uber driver who insists that you go back into the building and make sure that you apply for that SS card today, to the customer liaison lady at your child's "bucket list" store who makes a fuss of her very first visit. These, and countless more, are making NC already feel like home!

Thank you for filling every day with wonder! This is a whole new world, this is so much more than we could ever have imagined, where what we have only ever seen in the movies is now our reality! Where the yellow school bus reminds us of this remarkable journey we have embarked on and the monster trucks remind us that here the sky is the limit!

We are humbled by your generosity, we are thankful for your support, we are grateful for the opportunity to change the trajectory of our family for generations to come.

God bless America and ALL that she stands for! The land of the free and the home of the brave!
