In this strand, at least, she had made the oft-coveted first contact.

A part of her still wondered, still tried to rationalize this in her mind. Surely it must have been a peculiar ship, especially with the way it almost looked artificial. And yet... it seemed so alive.

She warmed her weapons, just in case.

“I don’t believe it...” she began. “Can it truly be? A complex life-form of non-Earth origin?”

She set her comms channel to an open frequency, wondering if this being could be spoken with—and whether it was truly intelligent.
