How to be a good teacher:
1. Set high, but reasonable, standards.
2. Hold students to those standards.
3. Let students fall (don't bail them out at the first sign of struggle).
4. Help students back up.
5. Love your students.

I love when we get to be Engineers and design our aluminum foil boats. Today we predicted and tested how many pennies our boats would hold before they’d sink #youngengineers#STEAM
The best team you can have is composed of people with different perspectives and strengths. If everyone is always agreeable and thinks in the same way, the status quo will never be challenged. #collaboration#teachergoals
Despite the cold and rain outside, we had a great inside Beach Day today! We compared groups of goldfish, wrote beach stories using our five senses, and then went fishing for CVCe words! Of course there was dancing and surfing all day too!
We started looking for a “Secret Student” today and here he is! Each day we hope to have another one. It’s so much fun for me to watch them self-monitor and make adjustments to their behavior just by hearing me say, “Could it be you?” @celprincipal @SWR_CEL
Coco didn’t return to Santa last night. 😥 This morning she was still sitting with our reading buddies. Santa sent a letter telling us that she stayed in the same spot to see if we’d be more mindful today at rug time. #fingerscrossed🤞🏻#secondchances
