Arrest update to 2025 Murder:

The deceased teen was identified as Angel Garcia (17). The defendant was identified as Jefferson Velasquez (1-4-08).

On Saturday, August 30, 2025 at approximately 11:15pm, @HCSOTexas deputies responded to a shooting in the 14700 block of Waldine. Upon arrival, deputies found a teen male (Angel Garcia), who would later be pronounced deceased from gunshot wounds. Garcia had been in attendance at an outdoor party at the location. Approximately 200 individuals were in attendance at the shooting, with most fleeing prior to the deputies’ arrival.

On June 4, 2026, the Violent Criminals Apprehension Team (VCAT), assisted by our partners with @TxDPS arrested Jefferson Velasquez (1/4/08) for two unrelated Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon warrants.
He was booked in the Harris County Jail.

Today, HCSO Homicide Detectives charged Jefferson Velasquez with Murder for his alleged involvement in the shooting death of Angel Garcia.
