CLASS OF 2022 ELIGIBILITY UPDATE, SEPT. 19-20, 2026

The divide is now visible on the field. Athletes with operative court protection played Saturday. Athletes without it did not.

𝗦𝗘𝗣𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝟭𝟵

1. INDIANA. DALEY AND WYATT v. NCAA

Stephen Daley and Kellan Wyatt did not play against Western Kentucky. Their TRO expired after the September 14 hearing in Monroe County Circuit Court, and Judge Kara Krothe has not yet ruled on the preliminary injunction. Both can practice but cannot compete. An expired TRO does not bar practice, but it does not allow game participation without a signed preliminary injunction.

2. WASHINGTON AND ARIZONA. GRADY GROSS / HARRIS v. NCAA

Grady Gross made his 2026 debut against Eastern Washington on Saturday, handling six kickoffs. Washington expressly stated a ruling permitted him to utilize a fifth year of eligibility. Postgame reporting indicates he received a favorable response in his lawsuit earlier in the week out of Pima County Superior Court before Judge Randi Burnett. The exact later Arizona court document has not surfaced publicly. This does not resolve his permanent eligibility.

3. ARKANSAS. CALEB WOODEN v. NCAA

Caleb Wooden played for Arkansas against Georgia. His September 14 preliminary injunction from Washington County Circuit Court, Judge Doug Martin, remains active. A preliminary injunction protects competition but does not decide the final merits of the case.

4. MISSISSIPPI. SOUTHERN MISS / NUNNERY v. NCAA. ACTIVE PROTECTION

Greg Nunnery Jr., Aloali'i Maui and Jameer Lewis remain protected by the Forrest County litigation. The September proceeding was reset and continued, and their temporary protection continued rather than expiring outright on September 14. Maui and Lewis subsequently started against UConn, confirming Southern Miss continues to treat them as eligible. Continued temporary protection does not resolve the final merits of their eligibility.

𝗦𝗘𝗣𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝟮𝟬

5. OHIO. BOROVICANIN v. NCAA

The First District Court of Appeals stay still blocks the 24-player preliminary injunction. The NCAA must respond to the athletes' emergency request at the Supreme Court of Ohio by 9.00 AM ET Monday. An impending filing deadline does not lift the stay.

6. WISNE v. NCAA

The Tenth Circuit stay from August 21 remains in effect. A federal appellate stay does not resolve the underlying statutory claims.

9.00 AM ET. Supreme Court of Ohio. NCAA response due in Borovicanin v. NCAA on emergency motion to vacate the appellate stay.
2.00 PM MST. Pima County Superior Court, Arizona. Judge Randi Burnett holds Harris preliminary injunction hearing.

Tuesday, September 22
9.30 AM ET. Ohio First District Court of Appeals. Oral argument in Borovicanin v. NCAA.
10.00 AM CT. St. Louis County Circuit Court, Missouri. Gus Tettamble preliminary injunction hearing. He currently has TRO protection.
Benton County Circuit Court, Oregon. Continued preliminary injunction hearing for Oregon State's Jaheim Patterson and Van Wells. Their TRO was extended through the September 19 game so the NCAA could present additional evidence.

Thursday, September 24
Washington County Superior Court, Rhode Island. Expected preliminary injunction decision for AJ Peña and Justin Carcel. Both can practice but cannot compete.
10.00 AM ET. Southern District of West Virginia. Preliminary injunction hearing in Lorient v. NCAA.
9.30 AM CT. Chicago. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation hearing on whether federal Class of 2022 eligibility cases should be consolidated into an MDL. This is procedural and does not itself change anyone's eligibility.

Friday, September 25
Travis County District Court, Texas. Preliminary injunction hearing in Hudson v. NCAA.

Monday morning is the next inflection point. The Supreme Court of Ohio response and the Arizona hearing could move the entire board.
