Big take always from the fluency round table:
1. Fluency instruction should be a daily priority, especially for students who can decode, but read dis-fluently.
2.Repeated reading is the most evidence based fluency intervention, but it is unclear if is the repetitions or total time spent that makes it effective.
3. Readers theatre, varied reading, and wide reading are valid alternatives to repeated reading.
4. Feedback is key.
5. Instruction should be matched to your students properly assessed needs.
6. Fluency instruction should be integrated with vocabulary and comprehension instruction.
