EPICS project proposals today! My favorites were smart lockers, trash can cart/roomba device to help the elderly, and a transport device for heavy bags of feed. #PeoriaMET#PeoriaMETTech
This Wednesday we, the #PeoriaMET 2nd years started on an Agile presentation to present to the first years this coming Wednesday. I can’t wait to present to the first years on one of the most important lessons they’ll have. #PeoriaMETTech
Today we elected to the offices in the #PeoriaMETTech chapter of Future Business Leaders of America the six of us tech 2nd years. @Alex_Ha_METTech was elected president, @JLu_MET_Tech was elected VP, @joshuacase_MET is Pr, and more that I can’t fit in a tweet. #PeoriaMET
Took my Windows Final Exam today after missing it on Monday due to the flu. I passed, and I’m very excited about that! Worked on Linux review and remembered why I don’t like the grub commands. They are so confusing to me, and will be for a long time. #PeoriaMET#PeoriaMETTech
Today was our TedTalk finals! I did pretty good, though I could have done better and touched on a few more topics that I wanted to. A lot of good ones though, such as @Levi_Knoll_MET , @FEMalapoMET, and a few more. #PeoriaMET#PeoriaMETTech
#CollegeSigningDay today at #PeoriaMET, since it was May 1st and the staff and seniors decided to do a workshop Wednesday dedicated to it. Most, if not all, of the seniors said that they’ll be going to colleges in state, so mostly ASU, NAU, and GCY. #PeoriaMETTech
Amazing field trip to GCC today! We got to see a glimpse at their main computer area, as well as skimming over some other areas of the campus. Their north campus is nearby where I live, so I am considering going there. #PeoriaMET#PeoriaMETTech
Just working on Windows final exam practice, which is covering all previous units. I did some Linux as well, learning about security for networks that use Linux systems. As the year gets closer to the end, work seems to cover similar topics. #PeoriaMET#PeoriaMETTech
Found out today, after last night’s wonderful student showcase, that the Cool Dogs will be going to the ASU showcase, since 3 of the 9 teams would not be able to go. Good luck to all going and to those who aren’t! #PeoriaMET#PeoriaMETTech
Took the chapter 14 Linux test today and did alright. Most, if not all, of the time afterwards was me trying to get the switch for our device working properly. The power part isn’t the problem, it’s the code part. Student showcase tonight as well! #PeoriaMET#PeoriaMETTech
Lots of working on the EPICS device today at #PeoriaMET#PeoriaMETTech. The two 3D printed cases were too small for the device, LCD, and battery holder. We managed to find the approximate ohms for the resistor, which is 40-50 ohms. Have a great day!
More Ted Talk practice today with only two to four people in the room at a time so then those of us in the tech branch can take our Windows test, which I did well on. After my Ted Talk, I went and got better images for some slides. #PeoriaMETTech#PeoriaMET
A speaker from ASU came in today to talk about mental health emotion management, which I think was a good idea. There were a few videoes about situations similar to what was being talked about. #PeoriaMET#PeoriaMETTech
More Windows and Linux today. Linux was learning how to write executable files and configure them to do certain things. Windows was learning about Windows Defender App Guard, different from yesterday though. #PeoriaMET#PeoriaMETTech
More Windows and Linux today, learning about Windows Defender App Control and Virtual Machines respectively. Afterwards, more EPICS time where we figured out that the 9V drains too fast, so we switched to four AAs. #PeoriaMET#PeoriaMETTech
More Windows today after I did well on the test. Learning about virus and malware protection on windows systems and that a paid anti-virus software is often better than a free one. I’m going to run a scan of my PC when I get home. #PeoriaMET#PeoriaMETTech
Today was learning about backup and recovery of files and drives as well as getting system images and rebooting using them. There was also a Linux test today and I did alright on it. Tomorrow is the windows test, so good luck to all taking it! #PeoriaMET#PeoriaMETTech
Cody Bliss from WL Gore came in today as a guest speaker. He was talking about as the picture says, solving complex problems. Most of the examples that were able to be fit in today was in the medical field and what WL Gore does. #PeoriaMET#PeoriaMETTech
Trip to @AZTechCelerator cyber range in Sunrise today and boy was it fun! I now am considering doing volunteer work there from time to time, to help out those who are interested in a similar field. #PeoriaMET#PeoriaMETTech
Some more Linux IP addressing lessons in TestOut today. Mostly routing and routing table commands. Got a couple more sprint goals to work on for EPICS related to wiring without the breadboard. #PeoriaMET#PeoriaMETTech
