Women comprise a little more than 50% of voters in the Philippines Yet, only 20% of them run for elections. Aren't we missing much on what Women can do in public sector leadership positions? Why are there not enough women running for elections?
@arjaguirre That was because DLSU was meted the total suspension in 2005 for something the school itself investigated and admitted right away. The problem was just in basketball. The reason probably for this call is fair and uniform application.
What is truly disgusting about some Filipino politicians is not their weird beliefs. It is the hypocrisy of parading themselves as blessed and holy while making decisions that align with what is evil.
The ongoing discussion in social media on whether the Supreme Court’s definition of the word, "forthwith", while interesting, is really about who gets to have the last say on the issue. It's about the Separation of Powers dynamics at play.
Guess who actually gets the last say?
When a dream is all you have, it stops being a wish—it becomes a decision. Especially when those expected to act choose not to. The truth is, the “impossible” often stays that way because too many people are told it is. Until a few decide it isn’t.

The numbers indicating that the US Senate and House are likely to flip in favor of the Democrats concern us greatly. One cannot predict what Trump will do because whatever he does will have an adverse effect on us, even if we are thousands of miles away.
Is there already a Congressional authorization for the US to engage in a war with Iran? Troop deployment on the ground is unmistakably an act war, if it actually takes place.
I can't really fathom the reason behind the religiosity of those I share my faith with, as they continue to justify and support hatred and violence against fellow human beings. I was raised believing that love, compassion, and forgiveness underpins the very essence of my faith.
@bnstim The question is was there really a meaningfu competitive election in the sense that voters had enough information for them to consider in who to vote for?
2/2 .... That power already exists. It’s called people’s initiative.
When Congress won’t regulate dynasties, the sovereign people can.
Because the Constitution did not entrust democracy to political families. It entrusted it to the people.

If the very institutions controlled by political dynasties refuse to pass a meaningful anti-dynasty law — for reasons that are painfully obvious — then the people must do what the Constitution itself allows: write the law and pass it themselves.
