Consultant Cardiologist, Dr Rae Duncan (@Sunny_Rae1), was interviewed today on BBC’s Sunday Show.
In this thread 🧵, I’ve pulled out some of the key highlights.
Kudos to Martin Geissler (@mmgeissler) who had clearly done his homework in advance & asked excellent questions.

I see @transportgovuk has deleted its ‘Network North’ post.
But it is too late.

Junior doctors are shattered, demoralised, traumatised and struggling to pay their bills while working in a overwhelmed and understaffed NHS
The govt’s response: call them lazy, greedy and selfish and refuse to offer any support
Sunak couldn’t care less about your health!
Doctors. They’re doctors. Stop belittling & infantilising highly trained & skilled professionals who could be saving your life in a cardiac arrest, operating on your brain to remove a tumour, transplanting your kidney or ensuring your last days on earth are pain free & dignified.
Many thanks, @wesstreeting.

Please consider reading this short thread in response to your Sunday Times interview. 1/n

Sorry for the mega-thread. Julia Waters, Lisa Telling, and I were at Westminster to attend the final evidence hearing of the Commons Select Committee enquiry into the efficacy of OFSTED on 8th November. We found Amanda Spielman’s evidence gobsmackingly tone-deaf…
🔴 ‘Adult Social Care is Broken and Heading for a Bigger Crash – and the Government has Repeatedly Made It Worse’
NHS consultant @mancunianmedic argues that the Government since 2010 is to blame for the worsening social care crisis

There are too many horrific atrocities going on around the world. But what makes the Israeli bombardment of Gaza particularly awful is that the people are held captive. They cannot flee. They cannot get aid. No one is permitted to help them escape. This makes it a truly evil act.
The Rwandan government has pocketed the best part of £200m and taken in zero deported asylum seekers. That's the same sum of money Sunak is offering the entire NHS to deal with this year's winter crisis.
