I think my reasons for loving the KX59s at TC are pretty self explanatory, and the 60 rarely has a driver willing to kick!!! Can't wait for these to do the 405 and get some real speed on these beauties. Glad AEE is back and running too!
For now, the best routes are 466 & 412.
@railperf@aliw5843@MeerkatExpress@TrainDriverNW@greateranglia@greensignallers@Captain_Deltic Did you account for other factors, eg platform dispatch procedure in that figure? CDRA use under DOO can also lead to longer "move off" times, which again compared to guard operation is not any different. Perhaps PTI when dispatch is also a factor improved with guards? (2/2)
@railperf@aliw5843@MeerkatExpress@TrainDriverNW@greateranglia@greensignallers@Captain_Deltic Any train can immediately release doors once it's stopped, it depends how fast your driver/guard are so 1st point invalid. A 4 minute saving time from DOO isn't anything special either.
Your 19sec figure is too high, giving/returning bells does not take an extra 13 seconds (1/2)
@aliw5843@MeerkatExpress@TrainDriverNW@railperf@greateranglia@greensignallers@Captain_Deltic Desiros may have slower doors compared to other stock, but they're not built for stop/start use, even then the door cycle is no more than 5-10 secs which on regional trains is insignificant. If you can't sacrifice that time at each station then the timetable is too tight. (1/2)
@MeerkatExpress@aliw5843@TrainDriverNW@railperf@greateranglia@greensignallers@Captain_Deltic Not to mentioned a highly increased field of view as opposed to a smaller camera screen.
The idea local doors takes longer is true for a few seconds at each station, but not significant enough to make a difference to a timetable. Much safer operations with a 2nd staff member
@railperf@greateranglia@greensignallers@Captain_Deltic An example of a well written timetable and Class 701 stock with much better guard operations help SWR run a 6L late train at Wandsworth to back on time by Kingston, even a few minutes early later on. Looks like DOO isn't the main factor to help trains get back on time is it?
@ChimeWhistle From train crew at an undisclosed TOC. Do you get excitement from posting railway news that is straight false? I don't recall being told not to talk about it, or any statement issued at all for that matter.
Do you get excitement from the likes you get by spreading false info?
@greateranglia It's alright, our train managed to make up enough time so we made our connection. Quite impressive actually. Thank you though, and have a good night :)
@greateranglia Hi, just on the late running 1925 2W29 train from Bury St Edmunds to Ipswich, and it's looking like the connection at Ipswich for the 2010 London service will be missed as it'll depart as we're due to arrive. Is there any chance you'd be able to hold it please?
Hi @Scotrail, I was just wondering what happens in the event I am travelling from Glasgow to Wick on the 15:07 Glagow Queen Street departure, and the train ends up being more than 5 minutes late which will in turn miss the Wick connection?
@london_rail @Sam82767021 You'd be right in saying it's for people who are visually impaired so they can see where the doors are. They did the same with 313201 and 507001
@I006B @london_buses474 @LG_Transport@londonbuses126 I would also like to add that you shouldn't be asking or expecting to be unblocked just like that, because there was a reason for it. Being unblocked is something that should be earned for good reason, not begged for because you want someone to notice you
@SouthernRailUK Hi Southern, RTT says the 7:41 train from London Bridge to Bognor Regis is still running to Redhill? Is this info correct or not been altered?
