Marco Rubio smacked down a Democrat senator’s claim that he skipped Iran negotiations for a “party” with President Trump.
'I know your staff wrote up this cute statement for your TikTok video, but it’s not true."
🚨BREAKING NEWS: HAYDEN HAYNES, @SpeakerJohnson's chief of staff, is leaving his post next month.
HAYNES has been Johnson's only chief during his tenure as speaker. He rose with him from the rank and file to the speakership during one of the most tumultuous periods in the history of the modern House.
HAYNES has been with Johnson for the Louisiana Republican's entire time in Congress. A wild ride, to say the least.....
GARRETT FULTZ will take over as chief. BILL DUHNKE, CHRIS BIEN and COURTNEY BUTCHER will be deputy chiefs.
Always a way to win ppl over - piss them off by blocking traffic so they can’t get to work. Morons. Also, why is DC police allowing this nonsense? .@MayorBowser
Kelly and I were at the event tonight, and we’re thankful no innocent people were harmed and everyone is now safe.
We’re grateful as always for the law enforcement and first responders who acted so quickly to bring the situation under control.
Praying for our country tonight.
Year of our Lord 2026: Democrat US Senator openly rooting for Iran to defeat the US in battle. Every Dem on the Hill ought to be hounded today by every reporter to answer for this lunatic.
DEMOCRAT: President Trump "is raising taxes on hard-working lower-income families and working families."
ME: "What taxes did he raise?"
DEM: 🦗🦗🦗
ALSO ME: Also, didn't you vote AGAINST the tax cuts last Summer? 🤷♂️
If Dems are willing to shutdown DHS just to prevent President Trump from enforcing our immigration laws, I think it's reasonable to ask:
How far will they be willing to go if they come into power?
Yes, @JacquiHeinrich but for some reason many in the media continually distort the facts and mislead the American public about what is actually happening.
Or, as in the case of the McCormick ethics trial just ignore it altogether because it involves a Democrat.
Perhaps that is part of the reason the media ranks lower than almost anything in terms of public approval.
Sad, but true.
House GOP actually passed a bill that would reopen DHS, but ok 🧐
Would be more accurate for NYT to say House GOP rejected Senate bill that left ICE & CBP unfunded, passed rival bill
Why does the distinction matter? Ending the shutdown on this “deal” would come at the expense of ICE & CBP civilian support staff, who are still not being paid - despite the frontline law enforcement officers being funded thru 2029 under OBBB.
Staff would have been permanently locked out under the Senate deal, unless/until R’s can pass a second reconciliation bill. Which looks like a loooong uphill battle.
