One of the most astonishing stories I have ever covered in evangelicalism is how evangelical leaders embraced and promoted Francis Collins, despite his rabid support of using aborted baby parts in federal research.

It was gruesome, it was abhorrent. Things like sewing the ears of aborted infants onto the backs of lab rats.

Of course, there’s plenty for evangelicals to criticize in Trump’s demeanor sometimes. But those like David French and Russell Moore who propped up Francis Collins are in absolutely zero position to offer that criticism as they have routinely lauded a man who is exponentially more immoral.
