For all those trolls telling me we can just leave the ECHR & create our own bill of rights remember that assumes we can trust the Government to protect our human rights. According to international Human Rights Watch the UK could soon make the list of countries that abuse rather than protect human rights thanks to this governments outright onslaught on the rights of its own citizens! During the past 12 months we’ve had an anti strike law - designed to rob millions of workers of their democratic right to strike, an Elections Act has locked millions of people out of the electoral process - a blatant act of voter suppression by the Government & new laws will strip back our right to protest & limit our rights to judicial review. You cannot trust a Government with our human rights when it’s already trying to curtail our human rights under the existing convention we are already apart of!

How hard would it be for the Sunday morning politics shows to say to Chancellor @Jeremy_Hunt THE PLAN IS NOT WORKING for the majority of people in this country - we have a staggering 14 million people now living in poverty, a million adults in the UK can’t even afford to eat every day, 9 million are skipping meals and cutting back on food, a record 2.1 million people are now using food banks, 7 million households are going without heating & basic toiletries, GP’s are prescribing nutritional drinks to starving patients, thousands are being hospitalized with malnutrition & the number of children in food poverty has doubled in the last year - how hard would it be to point all this out!

In 60’s Tories destroyed our railways with Beeching cuts claiming we couldn’t afford them so that we all had to buy cars and donors were paid to build roads.

In 80’s they ran down our industry and privatised utilities so big business benefited.

In 2010 they used financial crisis to birth austerity which began destruction of roads, NHS and public services.

They then harnessed the disgruntlement to deliver #Brexit to destroy absolutely everything.

I just rang Age UK to try to get a cleaner for my Aunt they quoted me £24.50 per hour! How on earth can the Government allow any of our doctors to work for £14.00 per hour who have saved her life!
