Voter No. 1,533 at Lapham Elementary School. Steady stream of voters but in-and-out within 5 minutes, plus a sweet new sticker for my Santa.
Feeling grateful for the local reporters covering #ElectionDay but glad I don't have to be staring at a screen, hitting refresh tonight!
Madison set a record for snowfall of a trace yesterday (10/13). This is the first occasion snowfall has been reported on 10/13 in Madison since records began in 1884.
This is one block from where my family celebrated my mom's retirement on a great vacation in May. Super devastating to see. Sending positive thoughts tonight to all affected by Hurricane Ian.
I've been capturing video from this webcam in Fort Myers all day and I've put it into a Timelapse. Check out the storm surge rushing in! Crazy. #Ian#flwx

If you will be a #pollworker in the upcoming #Wisconsin midterm primaries, please send me a message! I would love to speak with you and learn about why you've chosen to work this year.
After six and a half years and nearly 2,000 bylines, today is my last day reporting for the @WiStateJournal.
It's been a truly rewarding experience telling stories about Madison, its people, surrounding communities and the state.
@JeffRichgels Appreciate it Jeff, thanks for holding down the early morning coverage. But I'm glad I won't have to send any emails at 2 a.m. anymore after City Council wraps up asking you to repost the story at a normal time
@madnewsboy@WiStateJournal I look forward to continuing to read your great On Wisconsin columns and biz stories, Barry. As well as your tourism coverage😉
Next week I start as a communications specialist with the Department of Tourism. I'm excited to help others tell stories of Wisconsin and its destinations in this new capacity and to promote an industry still recovering from the pandemic.
I'll continue to be an enthusiastic subscriber to the State Journal as a source for high-quality local journalism. If you don't already, please consider financially supporting the local news outlets around you.
