The etymology of Paris seems unclear, whereas quadri-folia is rather self explaining. Even though it can have more than 4 leaves...

Bartsia alpina flowers are so very discret! Linnée named this plant in honour of his late friend, the naturalist and doctor M Bartsch.

@BrianLaney2 Thank you! I very much like it, first time I saw it I wasn't very careful though and promptly got splashed with a load of seed 😆 seeds collected yesterday will go into the seedbank.
I'm gonna try and collect some Ecballium elaterium seed for conservation purpouses today. Fruit are under pressure, as soon as they are plucked seed shoot out. I'll try avoiding them 🤪

Soldanella flower just after melting of the snow. I saw some in April, at low altitude and then again at the end of July, rather high up.
