La Strada International is a European NGO Platform against human trafficking, that works from a human rights perspective in support of trafficked persons.
Two months left to submit a paper for the next issue of Anti-Trafficking Review, which will focus on the role of family and community in #HumanTrafficking and the experiences and needs of family members of victims. Deadline 1 July. See #CallForPapers: https://t.co/k1kGQv7K21
@CF_Farrow So the confusion already starts. The text of the directive is very clear about the fact that the exploitation of surrogacy is only human trafficking when all elements of human trafficking will be proven. Surrogacy is not human trafficking. International surrogacy neither.
Today the #CSDDD was agreed on in the EU and we have yet another reason to celebrate the progress made to end forced labour 🎉💪

The EU Parliament just adopted the text of the recast of the EU anti-trafficking Directive. La Strada International regrets that the text does not enhance victims' rights to unconditional support and protection or their access to residence, non-punishment and compensation.

Tuesday‘s agreement on the #VAW Directive regrettably means a much weaker Directive text than we had hoped for. Minimum standards are set for states; consent-based rape is excluded and there’s no effective access to safe reporting for undocumented women wanting to report violence
New Anti-Trafficking Review #CallForPapers focuses on the role of family and community in #migration and #HumanTrafficking and the experiences and needs of family members of migrants and victims. Deadline 1 July, see more at https://t.co/k1kGQv8hRz @GAATW_IS @UNODC_HTMSS
Appalled by news of this latest attack against our member @KISAOfficial. We stand in solidarity with this champion of equality and human rights in Cyprus, and we join calls for their safety and full investigation.
An important piece by @heindehaas on the causes of #migration and the failure of EU and other rich states to find the right approach: "Everything politicians tell you about immigration is wrong. This is how it actually works" https://t.co/jPfUgk3Y3j
