Currently workshopping with the brilliant @bkdbusch discussing grassroots taxpayer activism and the limits of the American welfare state from 1935-1945 from her exciting forthcoming project. So many great interventions and generative directions throughout this entire project!

Any sources that could help think about the connections between the growth of urban marathons in the late-1980s and early 1990s and the broader process of urban renewal during that time would also be helpful.
