As teachers close out another school year where they prepared students for a STAAR redesign, coached students through active shooters drills, spent countless additional hours lesson planning and grading, and provided love and care to 20-150 students, districts have to say #txlege failed #txed. Districts are finding ways to provide 2-4% pay increases when we should be able to do more. Educators are feeling discouraged and defeated.

Public Ed didn’t even make the priority list for the first special session.

Let me add, this is on top of a failure to make schools safer after 19 kids & 2 teachers were murdered a year ago. This is amid poor state leadership that cannot even get test scores released on time in accordance w/ state law. This is after 51k teachers left their jobs last yr.
