I tried to solo Fatalis, I was already 29 minutes in. Running out of time I panic and poke over his tail due to my position with my Gunlance. Wipe on time. I looked up his HP afterwards. He had 24 left. One hit or even a single crit in the run would have been enough to kill him.

What is the most tragic defeat you've ever suffered on a really hard quest in Monster Hunter?

Yeah, Alatreon beat me again, we made it 24 minutes in on our best run, got super lucky with the double horn break and just couldn't quite get the clutch when he inevitably hit fire mode. We've had about 15 hours practice now and I'm getting really solid at audibly identifying the moves though. Surviving for 25 minutes is a sign that things are going in the right direction. I know Kaeyay lasted 35 mins on the dual blades before snatching the victory, so I know I must be getting close to that sweet, sweet W!

But yeah, other than getting my butt stomped doing blindfolded runs today, I think my most tragic loss had to be my first time Fatalis on Iceborne! We made it to the dragonator with three lives left and I ultimately timed out as it was launch day and I had zero clue about any of the openings! To be able to say I'd beaten Fatalis first try would have been bragging rights for all of time! But it was not to be.

Other than Fatalis, I remember using Lance in Freedom 2G on the double Rajang quest in the arena and fighting for a solid 30 minutes before wiping! I swear, something about old gen Rajang always ended in tragedy That dude use to be NO joke.

So, how about you guys? What was you most painful, memorable, heart wrenching defeat?

@Legov7 Ja, ich spiel auch Shooter und habe sogar eine bessere Genauigkeit mit meiner rechten Hand, aber ich glaub das ist nur eine Gewohnheits sache, weil ich früher nie eine Linkshänder Maus hatte und so immer mit rechts die Maus benutzt hatte.
