Social housing makes up approximately 16% of the total housing stock in Wales.
As of March 2025 there are 244,263 social housing units across the country. Increasing that supply by 20k by 2030 is a good start but it has to be more ambitious than that over the longer term.
When I worked in an emergency department in a rural part of Wales, I sometimes had to provide medical treatment to farmers.
Receptionist: A farmer has just come in. He says he has some mild chest discomfort.
Me: GET THE CRASH TROLLEY!!!
I have my dead mom's phone (I use it for some 2fa stuff ive been too lazy to change) and over a year ago it rang and I answered to my own voice going "hello mom" and then silent when I responded
It’s always a bit odd seeing so many people’s opinions and think pieces about disabled people on here. Some of you talk like there’s no way you could become disabled - hint: you absolutely can. It can happen in a day.

Lady in glasses, "No, the ones trying to sow the seeds of division between us"
"Because we're basically being manipulated by billionaires at this point"
"And it shouldn't be like that"
Compelling essay by sci-fi writer Ted Chiang on why LLMs are nowhere near consciousness, but why it serves the interests of LLM companies to constantly suggest that they might be.
I've pulled one quote below, but the whole article is worth reading.
A note on UK productivity and Wales specifically. Only two parts of the UK are higher than the UK average - London and SE. Wales though bottom is very very similar to a handful of English regions. The UK is very unbalanced.

Hard to square Plaid's position here.
In 2024 they rightly criticised Welsh Lab for delaying council tax reform and collapsed the Cooperation Agreement as a result.
But now they're in government and not committing to 2028?
This is the austerity record in a nutshell.
Billions cut from social security, yet poverty rose, health worsened, & more people became trapped in insecurity.
You can't cut your way to prosperity. UBI would provide the income floor people need to participate, contribute & thrive.
