The Fame Lab was thrilled to attend this Symposium with co-organized by Ryann @ScienceDame and Kalanit Grill Spector @kalatwt about the New Frontiers of Developmental Neuroscience! What fantastic speakers and new ideas!

[Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute @StanfordBrain]

Our 13th Annual Stanford Neurosciences Symposium has begun! Our topic: Building the Brain. We’re exploring how our brains wire themselves up from a few cells into the three pounds of matter in our skulls that makes us who we are.

Congratulations to Sarah on passing her qualifying exam! A new PhD candidate is minted!

[Kaltschmidt-Lab @kaltschmidt_lab]

So grateful for everyone who has supported me on this journey. Special thanks to all my current and former trainees!

[Stanford Neurosurgery @StanfordNsurg]

Congratulations to Julia Kaltschmidt, PhD (@kaltschmidt_lab), on her promotion to Professor of Neurosurgery! Dr. Kaltschmidt!

Dose is key🗝️. Higher doses of AAV (1uL of 4 x 10^12 GC/mL) consistently induced ventriculomegaly and permissive tropism in neonates, while moderate doses (1uL of 1 x 10^12 GC/mL) didn't. Study led by Luke Liu, with co-authors Ania Noguera, Ryan Humphries, and Blake Zhou.

📃Preprint alert @biorxivpreprint . Does your 2026 involve ICV injections of AAVs 🧠? If so, this study led by Luke in the lab is for you. https://t.co/7W2fHyBcYs

Clearance of intracranial debris by ultrasound reduces inflammation and improves outcomes in hemorrhagic stroke models - @StanfordRad https://t.co/BludN4qtBd

[Stanford Knight Initiative for Brain Resilience @BrainResilience]

“We’re making a helmet people can wear that delivers ultrasound to the brain, and we plan to initiate clinical testing of this protocol in the next few months,” said Raag Airan.

With Knight Initiative support, his lab plans to test it on people soon.

We are thrilled to receive support from the @StanfordBrain Wu Tsai Institute to start a new collaboration with @HeilshornSarah and her team!

[Wu Tsai Neurosciences Institute @StanfordBrain]

Congrats to the Seed Grant awardees! Projects include efforts to develop new tools for delivering drugs to the brain; study the role of neuropeptide molecules in pain & brain signaling; and probe the links between genetics, inflammation, & Alzheimer’s.
