@nearlylegal @michaeljswalker Yes, tenants demand landlords carry the cost of the crisis whilst landlords demand that tenants do. There are many possible compromises in between but @ThangamMP completely caved to the landlords, who won't contribute a cent whilst renters go into debt. It's a political choice.

@ThangamMP @tactful Corbyn's policy on this was already weak and unclear. You had an opportunity to show that the new Labour leadership could be more bold and more clear, but you chose to make it weaker. This isn't an improvement, you're going backwards. Really want to support you. Sort it out.

I'd ask Thangam to explain what "problems" rent waivers would cause me. But explaining to renters why it's not in our interests to demand better rights is really not a good place for the Labour Shadow Cabinet to be in.

@DoingMyBest1001 @UKDemockery This just makes me want to vote for her more. Corbyn was wonderful, but our next generation of politicians can't just idolise him, he had human flaws like anyone else. The next generation have to show what they will bring that will be different. RLB and Angela all the way.

@KieranDams1878 I don't think the two are incompatible. She stuck by him when it mattered but she's also able to recognise his human flaws. That shows integrity to me.

This is brilliant. Angela is clearly very different to Corbyn and the same goes for Rebecca Long-Bailey. Angela and RLB stuck by Corbyn when the going got tough, but that doesn't mean they aren't prepared to recognise his flaws.
