A/Prof and lab head at ARMI, Monash University. Creator of a novel subfield in stem cell research: the “CELL BIOLOGY OF PLURIPOTENCY".Multisport WORLD CHAMPION.
I now found some words about my race last Sunday at the #MultisportWorldChampionships in Townsville which got published as an article in a German newspaper (see picture) – or head over to my LinkedIn or Facebook page (both “Jenny Zenker”) for an English version of it.
We were delighted to welcome Dr Kelli Sorby, Scientific Director, & Dr Kerri Johnson, Research Coordinator at No.1 Fertility, an Melbourne IVF clinic, to @ARMI_Labs & the Zenker Lab. Their reactions to seeing embryos beyond the human realm—mouse, zebrafish & shark, was priceless.
Congratulations to Tracey King on her selection as committee member of the Scientists in Reproductive Technology (SIRT). Tracey brings an exceptional combination of expertise as PhD student in the Zenker Lab & as embryologist at No.1 Fertility, a Melbourne IVF clinic. @ARMI_Labs
Congratulations to Adam Rogerson for winning the People's Choice Award for his brilliant talk at the @ANZSCDB VIC state conference. Presenting a complex topic of how the microtubule cytoskeleton controls pluripotency in a simple & visual way got the audience fascinated.@ARMI_Labs
What gives stem cells their superpower? 🧬
Adam Rogerson (@LabZenker, ARMI) is investigating how the shape and structure of human stem cells help them stay pluripotent — the ability to become any cell in the body.🧵
New funding awarded to the Zenker Lab! Deeply honoured, grateful and truly relieved to have received an ARC Discovery Project grant.
Receiving this grant feels like winning the jackpot — it will give us the freedom to focus on our research how RNA controls early embryogenesis.
Congratulations to ARMI's @LabZenker + team. Their research has been awarded an ARC Discovery Project to reveal how RNA dynamics guide the earliest cell fates. 🧵+ read more: https://t.co/Wm2dE3bpAW

I had the immense pleasure to write an opinion piece on stem cells for @ConversationEDU The Conversation Australia + NZ. An easy read for non-experts who are curious what stem cells are, what they can do (or not do).

Today is WORLD STEM CELL DAY .
But do most people even know what a stem cell is?
If you are reading this, no matter what your knowledge is, leave a comment and tell me what you think a stem cell is. No need to be scientific. Just say what comes to mind. @ARMI_Labs
2 poster awards in 1 week for @jin_hongbin - congratulations! Hongbin's work was recognised @MelbourneELBR and @ARMI_Labs Scientific Review Dinner. His work on early #embryogenesis using live imaging demonstrates his exceptional skills, underpinned by his visionary thinking.👏
Another race, win & adventure.
I intended to take on the 20km open water swim around Keppel Island. Due to strong storm, the course was changed to a 15km loop. Maybe shorter, but the conditions made it more challenging. Storm. Waves. Tide. Happy to come 1st woman, 2nd overall.
Exciting week at the @GordonConfGordon on #Fertilization & Activation of #Development in Holderness, USA — the premier conference in the field of #DevelopmentalBiology. Inspired by cutting-edge science, breakthrough technologies, and insightful discussions. @ARMI_Labs#Science
Congratulations to A/Prof Jenny Zenker (@LabZenker) on her appointment as Faculty Representative (@Monash_FMNHS) to Monash University’s Academic Board!
A great recognition of Jenny’s leadership, expertise & commitment to academic excellence. 👏

The 2025 Emerging Leader Award was presented to Associate Professor Jennifer Zenker for her excellence in reproductive and regenerative sciences, and establishment of a novel sub-field in stem cell research defined as the “Cell Biology of Pluripotency”.
🎉 Very excited to receive the Best Poster Presentation award at the Hunter Meeting @HunterDevCell!
Huge thanks to the organisers for putting together such an inspiring showcase of developmental and cell biology, and the opportunity to share my work!

I am very honoured to have received the "Emerging Leader Award 2025" from the Australian and New Zealand Society for Cell and Developmental Biology (@ANZSCDB ). A very special thanks to all my lab members, past and present, and everyone who accompanied me along my journey.
We are thrilled to announce that A/Prof Jenny Zenker @LabZenker has been awarded the highly prestigious @ANZSCDB Emerging Leader Award for 2025.
She accepted the award this week at the @HunterDevCell Meeting, and delivered an inspiring acceptance speech focusing on "hidden insights into the journey of life" - sharing both her personal journey and the insights revealed by her research into the cytoskeleton of pluripotent cells.
Congratulations A/Prof Zenker!
