The team is fine-tuning its solution for the IEEE AESS Challenge Problem I: Radar, developing a millimeter-wave radar system that detects tiny chest vibrations and reconstructs an ECG-like heartbeat signal, completely contactless, even in dynamic scenarios.

It covers the design and development of technology systems and services in telecommunications, radar, electromagnetics, RF and microwaves equipments and subsystems.

The iFURTHER consortium met in Athens for the M36 Steering Committee and Final Review, marking the end of the project. A key milestone to assess progress, share results with MoD representatives, and highlight iFURTHER’s contribution to future European defence capabilities.

We are in one of only 4 teams selected for funding in the first "IEEE AESS Challenge Problem I: Radar", focused on radar-based heartbeat monitoring in dynamic scenarios - developing algorithms to estimate heart rate and variability even with body movements.

Back from Krakow, where we took part in the 2025 IEEE RadarConf!
One of the highlights of the event was the #RadarChallenge, where our young researchers showcased their skills using a 10 GHz Phased Array Radar platform from Analog Devices. We finished 3rd in the competition!🥉

🚀 A new journey begins! We held the kick-off meeting of the PORTAL project at RaSS Lab. Partners set the stage to move full-polarimetric SDR/AESA radar from concept to real demonstrators and trials.

Yesterday marked the final field validation of the Integrated Submarine System project, developed by DRASS, in collaboration with us and FlySight. We provided support in this phase, playing a leading role across the project in developing the TMA system and ensuring cybersecurity.

RESTART - Hands-On with the Future of Telecommunications Plenary Dissemination Workshop, is taking place these days, in Naples.

Among the highlights, we contributed with #WatchEDGE, a project of the @Fond_RESTART program - exploring edge computing for AI across distant sites.

This week, the #iFURTHER consortium gathered for its M30 Progress Meeting, hosted in Pisa at CNIT RaSS Lab.

The project, funded under the EDF is developing a cognitive network of OTH radars to enable long-range, wide-area air and sea surveillance across the EU.
