Many graduates use "Graduate Trainee Program" and "Entry-Level Job" interchangeably. They are not the same.
A Graduate Trainee Program is designed to help you learn, explore different functions, and build a foundation for your career.
An Entry-Level Job hires you into a specific role from day one. You ar=re expected to learn on the job while contributing to the team.
Think of it this way:
Graduate Trainee Program= Learn first, then specialize.
Entry-Level Job = Specialize while you learn.
Neither is better than the other. They simply serve different purposes.
The mistake is ignoring entry-level opportunities while waiting for a Graduate Trainee Program.
Your career can start with either.
