“There’s definitely a sense of pride being independent – 100%,” states Mike Murton. “I think when you look at our size, we’re probably the largest out there that’s still 100% privately-held by the family that founded the company. And even though we’re large, we still have that family-run organizational feel."
The acquisitions have given OMNI Systems additional footprints in Cincinnati, St. Louis, and Kansas City, KS. The company boasts nearly 350,000 square feet of space throughout the four locations.
The year 2023 served as an inflection point for OMNI Systems, as two deals ramped up company growth. In early 2023, OMNI Systems acquired ITW Labels and its two facilities. Then, later in the same year, OMNI Systems added a division of Honeywell Media, which used to be Intermec Labels.
President Mike Murton has carried on Adam DeFrancesco’s legacy of operating nimbly, efficiently, and with a strong company culture at OMNI Systems.

The launch of DS2 expands the Fedrigoni Self-Adhesives portfolio of materials developed for applications where clean removal, container reuse, and efficient cleaning processes are important. By enabling labels to dissolve and disperse during cleaning, DS2 helps reduce the need for manual label removal while supporting reuse-focused container programs.
“DS2 was developed for applications where the label needs to perform during use, then wash away cleanly when the container is ready to be reused,” states Melissa Harton, marketing manager, North America, Fedrigoni Self-Adhesives. “By pairing a water-soluble adhesive with water-dissolvable facestocks, converters can support customers who need clean-release labels that leave no adhesive residue behind.”
Fedrigoni Self-Adhesives North America has introduced DS2, a clear-drying, water-soluble adhesive for label applications that require complete removal with no adhesive residue.

Adam James explains, “The digital label printing market continues to grow strongly. To support this growth and allow label printers to take advantage of the opportunities, finishing must grow with the market.
“Through conversations with customers, internal research, and my own experience, we know that as much as 80% of the volume of labels printed digitally can be finished using a standard gloss varnish or lamination coupled with semi-rotary diecutting."
UK-based finishing equipment manufacturer Bar Graphic Machinery (BGM) has launched Compact, a new range of finishing lines tailored specifically to the needs of digital label printers.
