Labour for Europe is a grassroots network of pro-European and internationalist Labour Party members and supporters who believe we are stronger together.
The European Union is the most successful act of friendship, unity and prosperity the world has ever known.
The majority in our country know that leaving is a mistake.
It will take a while but we will be back for good; the alternative is undoubedtly weaker, poorer and lonelier.
Happy Brexit referendum anniversary day. It weakened the economy. Reduced investment. Tanked the pound. Damaged the City. Increased red tape. Increased immigration. Decreased the rights of the young. Staffed billions wasted. But hey - Johnson has PM on his CV and his partner in crime Farage has replaced him as the darling of the right wing rags. So all worth it for the tiny minority who gained out of an act of national self harm
The scenes in Liverpool are appalling — my thoughts are with all those injured or affected.
I want to thank the police and emergency services for their swift and ongoing response to this shocking incident.
I’m being kept updated on developments and ask that we give the police the space they need to investigate.
If Britain feels like an island of strangers then it’s not because of migrants, but inequality.
Everything of value is eroded, social lives included. No one can afford to eat out with friends, visit family by train, or whatever. We work, shop at Tesco, pay rent, and that’s it.
I’m grandson of an Irish migrant, living in one of the most diverse communities in the country. We get along together pretty well with every section of the community making its contribution. Talk of an “island of strangers” shockingly echoes the divisive language of Enoch Powell
Anti-immigration policies stoke division and harm people, our public services and economy, while doing nothing to address the real problems caused by austerity.
Let’s offer solutions not scapegoating.
Sheffield Central is not “an island of strangers.” We are a mosaic of neighbours, friends and families from across the world. We all cooperate and contribute to our community.
Our country was rebuilt from the contribution of successive generations of migrants, like my grandfather and father who worked tirelessly in the steel industry. They were not strangers, but part of a city and country that welcomed them.
A Party that makes takes money from the elderly and the infirm and blames the immigrant for poor wages, housing and public services ceases to be The Labour Party.
Your announcement was full of dog whistle racism, othering minorities as responsible for low wages, expensive housing and poor public services.
You should be ashamed of yourself.
The Tories ran an immigration system that relied on cheap foreign labour instead of investing in British workers.
That betrayal ends now.
Watch my announcement live from 8:30am as I set out how Labour is delivering on our manifesto promise.
Thirty four days ago, Ukraine responded positively to the U.S. proposal for a full and unconditional ceasefire. And for thirty four days now, Russia has been openly refusing to cease fire. Putin remains focused on continuing the war. Russian state propagandists are preparing their audience for the idea that diplomacy will not bring any results.
There is only one reason for this – in Moscow, they are not afraid. If there is no strong enough pressure on Russia, they will keep doing what they are used to – they will keep waging war.
We all want this to end. Peace is needed – and it must be lasting. That is why Ukraine always works constructively with its partners, in all formats that can bring security and restore peace. We are not just ready for peace quickly – Ukraine has never wanted this war, not for a single second.
And when the war ends, the world will clearly know: it happened because Russia, the aggressor, was forced into peace. The same aggressor that came to Ukrainian land in 2014 – 11 years ago. And it’s important for everyone that this doesn’t take more years.
Recently, Nigel Farage stood on stage in America and lied about free speech being under threat in the UK.
Today, Donald Trump is going to ban all protests he doesn’t agree with.
I presume Nigel Farage will be tweeting his condemnation in 3,2,1….
Oh do fuck off. And when you get there fuck off some more.
You wiped 30% off our pensions, saddled us with debt meaning our hospitals, schools and every other public service is knackered and you made us look idiots to the rest of the world.
You are a complete embarrassment.
Labour are doing huge damage to Britain's standing and economy.
The last thing America needs is these disastrous policies.
Unbelievably arrogant and foolish of them to interfere in the US election.
The fucking godforsaken cowardice of these people. I'm not even a fan of newspaper endorsements. But if you can't summon the courage to offer one when your democracy is on the brink, you don't don't know what you're for.
Rishi Sunak attacks Keir Starmer for means testing the winter fuel allowance and taking away money from "Britain's vulnerable pensioners"
Here's a reminder of the manifesto Rishi Sunak stood on in 2017 #PMQs
Conservative MP Mel Stride claims PIP benefit is thousands of pounds per month.
No it is an absolute maximum of £780 a month, and most people only get about £250.
Meanwhile he claims £1,250 a month in rent on his expenses
Lying, thieving b******
Remembering Theresa May's rampage "If you're a citizen of the world, you're a citizen of nowhere"
Has there ever been a more nasty, hideous, false statement.
Borders are a human construct, there isn't a single person who doesn't want to travel the world to live, learn and love.
