Over 1,000 firefighter jobs cut
Increased response times
Fire stations at risk of closure
Threat of permanent withdrawal of appliances
FBU Scotland are right - the recent Arthur's Seat fire shows that the Scottish Government must reverse these damaging fire service cuts.
Deindustrialisation, alcohol & drug deaths, health & wealth inequalities, rural & island communities being abandoned & growing difference in life expectancy between the wealthiest & most deprived show that it absolutely is. The aim of being a workers Parliament hasn’t came about.
That makes Ivan McKee the Cabinet Secretary for cutting thousands of public sector jobs and slashing vital public services that will hammer communities 👇
so we're looking at a very similar cabinet, with a new role for 'Public Service Reform' aka job losses, service cuts, and disadvantages to the working class. this will be a complete continuity gov, with no improvement in any portfolio, and more failure towards workers.
Such a disappointing misrepresentation of the meeting I attended yesterday. There was a wide ranging discussion of the failed election campaign and there is a difference between a position of seeing nothing to gain from an immediate change of leadership and unqualified support.
Whoever this source is did not sit in the same meeting as myself.
I asked that it be minuted that I have no confidence in the leadership of Anas and Jackie. Others asked that they take some responsibility. Shame that some are putting their faction over the future of the party.
As a Party we must reckon with the fact that since Corbyn’s departure Labour has not inspired, let alone championed, a new generation of Parliamentary socialists. The presidential style of Starmerism, imitated by Sarwarism, has bored the life out of the Party. People need hope.
Congratulations to @KatySClark for her election to the post of deputy presiding officer.

I have been lobbying for years to secure funds to restore these tenement blocks on Stonyhurst Street in Possilpark.
I'm pleased that the funding has now been secured.
There is a derelict tenement block in private ownership further up Saracen Street that also needs intervention.
It's time for Sarwar and Baillie to go - Scottish Labour's leaders cannot keep blaming Westminster for the collapse at the ballot box, says VINCE MILLS

Anas Sarwar is right, lessons must be learned from these losses.
Labour’s greatest strength is our members, but they have been leaving us in droves.
Organising and recruiting a mass membership must be a priority for the leadership. That starts with restoring Party democracy.
