U.P.–Japan Investment Meet 2026 | Strengthening U.P.–Japan Collaboration 🇮🇳🇯🇵
The U.P.–Japan Investment Meet 2026 witnessed the exchange of key MoUs across skilling, tourism, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), and workforce development. Invest UP exchanged an MoU with the Technical Training & Research Centre, Kanpur, alongside the felicitation of Shri Shuichi Kamada, Director, Japan Technical Training Centre, and three Uttar Pradesh-domiciled trainees placed in Japan.
The Tourism Department and Yamanashi Prefecture exchanged an MoU to promote sustained tourist engagement between both regions. Another MoU between Invest UP and Yamanashi Prefecture will strengthen collaboration and promote the establishment of Japanese GCCs in Uttar Pradesh. The Labour Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh, and Yamanashi Prefecture also exchanged an MoU to facilitate a consistent supply of Japanese-language proficient workforce.
Together, these partnerships mark a significant step towards deeper U.P.–Japan cooperation and shared growth.

Addressing the U.P.–Japan Investment Meet 2026,
Hon’ble Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath welcomed the Japanese delegation and described the U.P.–Yamanashi engagement as a new chapter in the India–Japan partnership. He highlighted Japan’s strengths in precision, discipline, Kaizen, Monozukuri, innovation and high-quality manufacturing. He emphasised the opportunity to combine these strengths with Uttar Pradesh’s young, skilled workforce and rapidly expanding infrastructure.
Hon’ble Chief Minister outlined initiatives to deepen cooperation in investment, skills, employment, tourism, healthcare, manufacturing, green hydrogen and Global Capability Centres, including a proposed Yamanashi Desk within Invest UP and a Centre of Excellence for green hydrogen.
He envisioned U.P. as a global manufacturing and export hub, where Japanese companies can build their global future, combining Japan’s technology with India’s talent and U.P.’s ambition.

Addressing the U.P.–Japan Investment Meet 2026, H.E. Kotaro Nagasaki, Governor of Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan, expressed gratitude to the Governments of India and Uttar Pradesh, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, the Embassy of Japan and business communities for strengthening this enduring partnership.
He emphasised that the engagement must move beyond dialogue and MoUs towards concrete projects, business opportunities and long-term outcomes, connecting India’s growth with Japan and Yamanashi’s technology and human resources.
Key areas of cooperation highlighted included human-resource development, nursing and care, tourism and green hydrogen. He underlined Yamanashi’s experience in developing an integrated regional hydrogen ecosystem and envisioned scalable green hydrogen projects in Uttar Pradesh through collaboration among governments, universities and industries.
With 200+ Japanese business leaders participating, the visit reflects strong commitment to building a partnership based on shared technology, talent, innovation and sustainable growth.
