It’s time to back safe-standing at football grounds.
We will give the power to fans, clubs and local safety authorities, to allow stadiums to designate an area for safe-standing.

FC Basel fans protesting the Swiss FA selling expensive tickets for their cup final by issuing their own tickets for half the price. The fans will turn up on the day of the match & offer the FA the money. If they turn it down they’ll have no fans or money. Can we do this here pls
Most of us, if not all of us will get a knock on the door for politicians of various persuasions.
If you love the Beautiful game ask them to support Grassroots football and if they agree you'll vote for them.
To save Grassroots Football we need to #GTTO and Vote Labour #EFC
To combat racism in football - we need a change of culture.
This means diversifying our boardrooms, more BAME coaches, severe punishments for racism and media outlets taking more responsibility.
I've added my name to the @TimesSport manifesto:

How to explain the roots of what mod£rn football has become? @NFJensen with a pretty detailed explanation of how football went from being 'just' a sport to an industry.

Today we remember and pay tribute to the 96 Liverpool supporters who left for a semi-final and never came home.
We remember their families and friends, and we remember and continue to support the survivors of that day, 15 April 1989.
You are forever in our hearts. #YNWA
30 years ago today, 96 children, women and men lost their lives at Hillsborough.
Our thoughts are with all those affected by the tragedy and the 96 fans who will never be forgotten.
Not a great day for English football’s...erm, ‘business model’ tomorrow. Three clubs in companies court facing winding-up petitions: Bolton, Macclesfield & Ebbsfleet.
Bielsa on the attack on Jack Grealish yesterday: "The person who does the thing we saw yesterday expresses a series of frustrations which are not necessarily linked to football. Because the more satisfied you are with your personal life, the less you need to do this kind of act."
Re pitch invasions. No, we are not "going back to the dark days of football hooliganism". Yes, punishments for perpetrators are sufficient - pitch encroachment is a criminal offence, assault is a criminal offence, and FBOs have a punitive effect. #jackgrealish
Look at all that Bucky!! Someone made a great point - fans can drink on a train while legally "annoying wider public", so why target a bus of football fans contained in one vehicle? 🤦♂️
No doubt the public feel much safer that a few cans of beer have been confiscated from fans - odds on this happening to fans of any other support? Not a chance.
This afternoon officers stopped a football supporters bus on the A78 which was travelling towards a match in Greenock. A quantity of alcohol was seized from passengers. Sergeant Lyall said “Operations like this one help keep fans and the wider community safe”.
Superb analysis as always from @DPJHodges. If only Jeremy Corbyn has reached out and appointed someone like Owen Smith, who literally stood against him months earlier, to the Shadow Cabinet after the last election.
Oh wait...#owngoal
There was a moment, in the immediate aftermath of the election, when Jeremy Corbyn was in a position of unrivalled power. If he'd taken that opportunity to reach out to the moderates, and engage with them, I suspect British political history would have been very, very different.
