Thanks to the efforts of this Labour government, families are saving an average of £8,000 on their childcare hours.
But I know too many parents are still being stung by 'top up fees'. It's not acceptable.
I've asked the CMA to step in.

Free bus travel for children this August will help families with the cost of living and make summer holidays more affordable.
Families in Birmingham Edgbaston will be able to enjoy more days out while keeping more money in their pockets.

I welcome the progress towards an agreement between the US and Iran.
We need to see an agreement that brings the conflict to an end and reopens the Strait of Hormuz, with unconditional and unrestricted freedom of navigation. It’s vital that Iran must never be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon.
My government will continue to do everything we can to protect British people from the impact of this conflict.
We will work with our international partners to seize this moment and achieve a long-term diplomatic settlement.
NEW: Families across the UK are set to benefit from a VAT cut on children’s meals, family entertainment and attractions as part of Labour’s Great British Summer Savings.
Introducing the very first Great British Railways train 🚆
You can now spot the new GBR train in real life as the new branding starts rolling out gradually across the rail network.
Another step towards a simpler, better railway under GBR which puts passengers and customers first.
Another big rail moment today, as South Western gets its first GBR train.
Since coming into public ownership, a new fleet of trains has been rolling out, giving passengers more spacious, comfortable & air conditioned journeys.
We're building a railway you can be proud of. 🇬🇧🚆
We're doing more to build new homes, create new jobs, and drive growth.
It was brilliant to see Chancellor @RachelReevesMP and Housing Secretary @SteveReedMP yesterday to discuss the West of England's first Mayoral Development Zone, covering our emerging new town: Brabazon and the West Innovation Arc.
Our region has such exciting potential - including in this area for 40,000 new homes and just as many new jobs in the long-term. We are determined to seize the full scale of the opportunity and make life better for people across the West Country @mhclg
Inflation has dropped to 2.8%, beating expectations📉
This @UKLabour Government’s plan is working. We’re fixing our economy and building a stronger, fairer Britain.
We’ve just secured a historic trade deal with the Gulf.
This is a huge win for British business, and for working people who will feel the benefits in the years ahead.
We’ve secured five major trade deals with international partners - delivering on our commitment to drive economic growth, create jobs, and strengthen our economy.
Inflation is down today, in part thanks to action we've taken on energy bills.
But the price of electricity is still set by global gas rates, despite half of our electricity coming from renewables.
So we're taking steps to fix that too.

Last week’s strong growth figures show that this government has the right economic plan.
Today, the IMF has upgraded the UK’s growth forecast.
We are building a stronger, fairer Britain.
This is a reminder of what politics is really about.
A Labour government delivering for working people and making sure all of our children get the best start in life.
We have just introduced our Social Housing Bill to Parliament.
At its heart are comprehensive reforms to the Right to Buy including exempting newly built social housing for 35 years.
The Bill also increases protections for social tenants who are victims of domestic abuse.
Where they’re in power, Green councils are backing out of their housing pledges entirely.
In Bristol, the Green administration pulled its affordable housing targets earlier this year.
