$25m is a ton of money individually but not enough to change the world. You could however change the lives of 28 of your closest family and friends, forever. I'd put it all in a managed irrevocable trust. Compound that money over 50 years at a conservative 7%, withdrawing 90% of earnings a month, retaining all principle. I'd give all 28 people a $5000 check a month for life. No strings attached. Now they never need to worry about rent, utilities, transportation, and basic necessities, forever. As the residual earnings compound and grow the fund, so do the payments on average, keeping up with inflation. Upon death, each allotment gets donated to a cause determined by the board of trustees. Payments are non inheritable or transferable other than back to the trust upon death. Once everyone is dead, say in 50 years, fund is still worth $35.5M, paid out $94M to beneficiaries, and the final act of the trust would convert that fund into an endowment helping fund in perpetuity whatever cause the board voted upon. Something like that. Cocktail napkin maths here.
