Wake Up
Wake up, my soul.
I don’t know where you are,
where you’re hiding,
but wake up, please,
we’re still together,
the road is still before us,
a bright strip of dawn
will be our star.

@JazzCity9@LePapillonBlu2 Your point stands though. Psychopaths are often associated with glibness and charm. This is why people get drawn into their orbits unknowing of the pathology. Unconsciously, Trump has a very fragile sense of self. His father the likely cause. Psychopaths often feel empty inside.
@JazzCity9@LePapillonBlu2 People with a personality disorder can suffer or, equally, demonstrate grandiosity and omnipotence. The diagnosis isn't based solely upon distress.
It's also important not to conflate a personality disorder with a mental illness such as schizophrenia or depression.
"A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world."
- Oscar Wilde

Petrichor is the earthy scent released when rain falls on dry soil
The word itself was coined in 1964 by two Australian scientists who blended the Greek words for stone (petra) and the fluid that flows through the veins of gods (ichor)
The smell comes from a compound called geosmin released by soil bacteria plus an oil that plants secrete during drought as a kind of survival mechanism that gets trapped in rock and dirt
Humans are wired to love it because our ancestors relied on rain to survive meaning your brain is essentially having an ancient primeval emotional reaction every time a storm rolls
The wisdom of Greek tragedy cannot be overemphasized. All of them dramatize this universal confession: “I created my life; I made these choices; and, stunningly, this flood of unimagined consequences are the fruits of my choices.~James Hollis
@SophiaCycles Sometimes we intuit in the moment that a particular choice will have a significant impact on our life's trajectory.
But we don't know why exactly at this juncture. It sits within the unconscious.
Later, we become conscious of the impact. Good or bad but usually transformative.

“Whenever I see someone with an abundance of empathy I want to ask what heartbreak they have endured, for compassion is often birthed in the valley of despair.”
